Quilting has begun on my In From The Cold quilt! I finished the back and basting this morning and I decided to start with outlining the mugs ~ not IN the ditch, but close to the ditch.
From there, I thinking of cross-hatching the background because I love that look on other quilts I've seen. Or maybe I should go with something like the serpentine stitch on this gorgeous quilt by amandajean over at Crazy Mom Quilts?
Here's the back:
I did get 2 more 16-patch blocks done on my Good Night Irene quilt ~ I love the bright colors!

Wow. Your mug quilt is rather gorgeous. It is great to make progress on our work isn't it. I've made good progress on two of mine this week which has pleased me. First time I have visited your blog. I will be back! I love to comment too so guess you will get to know me
ReplyDeleteHow pretty you're mug quilt is and the back is wonderful! The fabrics in Good Night Irene are so cheerful. Both quilts are going to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour teacups are wonderful! And your Irene blocks are so pretty! :0)
ReplyDeleteI love your pieced backing. I think either quilting style would look great! It depends on if you want to soften the look with curves (like steam) or make them really stand out with the cross hatching.
ReplyDeleteYour mugs are looking soo cute! I am a fan of the serpentine stitch because it is so easy and effortless. I have done it on a few quilts now, and plan to do it in the future! :) Can't wait to see what you decide!
ReplyDeleteWould love for you to stop by and link this up to Fabric Frenzy Friday!

I have to confess that I am loving the backing! And the blocks are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI vote for the serpentine stitch. It goes well with the steam rising from the mugs. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like serpentine stitch is the winner! Can't wait to see how this turns out :)
ReplyDeleteThis is looking great! Looks like you decided your quilting:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful quilt, and I agree with the other comments- the serpentine stitch will look amazing!
