2017 Finish-A-Long - Third Finish: Interlocking Chains

This has been a good quarter so far for the 2017 Finish-A-Long ~ I don't often finish three projects.  This latest one is one of my favorites, because it's going to my grandson who will be coming home soon from being stationed in Okinawa.

This is Interlocking Chains from the book New Ways with Jelly Rolls: 12 Reversible Modern Jelly Roll Quilts by Pat and Nicky Lintott.  (The same book my Log Cabin Sparkles quilt came from.)

My grandson is a big Detroit Red Wings fan, so I made sure there were some Red Wings fabrics in this quilt.

I love the fabric I used for the binding!

I kept my quilting simple ~ just two cross-hatched lines crossing through each of the links in the chains.

I hope he likes it!  My biggest concern is that one of the lighter fabrics looks kind of pink from far away ~ but I'm trying to ignore that.  :)

Linking up with Lorna for Let's Bee Social.

  2. This is a great pattern - looks much more complicated than it is and a great one for jelly rolls. Red, gray and black- perfect colors for a grandson- I hope he loves it!

  5. This is nice!! (Greetings from Colorado - I'm surfing here from the Finish Along link up.) Your grandson must be military - Marines? Our son-in-law is a Marine, and we've always been an Air Force family. It's nice that he's coming home!

  6. I am in the process of making a quilt with these same colors. I can only hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours. Thank you for participating in the FAL - on behalf of the 2017 Global FAL hosts.
