So I took another class on Saturday from Bev, my favorite teacher at Flash Sew & Quilt ~ this is the quilt top we were learning how to make:
Just what I needed ~ another project. :) But I learned something new ~ applique! We did a simple blanket stitch on this one. I like the way it turned out and it's inspired me to do more.
AND we learned how to use a new tool: Sue Pelland's Hearts and More template which made the hearts so easy! (You can see her video here)
AND I tried a new fusible product ~ Mistyfuse ~ which is a very lightweight fusible ~ great for applique.
I decided to go with a totally different color scheme and went with an aqua and green palette and I'm lovin' it! Fabrics are from Kate Spain's Daydreams, Lauren & Jessi Jung's Chantilly, Stonehenge and Stephanie Ryan's Modern Roses.
Ready for the next border!
Linking up with Anything Goes Mondays and WIP Wednesday.

Saturday happenings
Class today! I'm so excited to start this class (1st session of 3) ~ the minute I saw this quilt I knew I wanted it for myself. :) Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I've made some progress on Christmas tree skirt #3. Got all the hourglass blocks done and finally decided on a layout I can live with and I have all my rows ready to sew!
I signed up as a vendor for one of my favorite pet adoption events on November 10th sponsored by the Pit Bull Crew ~ a local group that helps find forever homes for pit bulls at the shelter.
Have a good weekend ~ gotta get to class!
Update: Finished the first mug block for my In From The Cold quilt! Lots of fabric to cut before next class in two weeks ~ looking forward to seeing this come together. :)

I've started working on doggy-themed wallets and pouches and I'm sharing a table with a good friend of mine who does some really fun pottery. She's making dog bone wind chimes (so cute!). Hoping to raise some money for this great cause!

Class today!
At the last minute (like this morning), I decided to attend a class today at Flash Sew Quilt (one of our local quilt shops) taught by Bev Young. The pattern for the table runner we worked on came out of Back to Charm School by Mary Etherington and Connie Tesene. Bev is such an awesome and fun teacher ~ and she always has the most invaluable tips for cutting and piecing the fabric!
I finished two blocks in class ~ using a charm pack called Midwinter Reds along with a couple of browns and a grey. To do the table runner, we need to make 10 of these blocks and then add dark brown sashing and binding. I'm usually not much of a red fan, but I think this would look good as a fall/winter addition.
This makes two weeks in a row that I've taken a class ~ last week's class was for a Pineapple Log Cabin block. For that class we used the most amazing ruler ~ the Pineapple Trim Tool by Creative Grids. It took a little getting used to, but it's fabulous!
Here's my block for that class ~ I love it except for the center square and the light blue (they just don't work for me!)

So no more classes for me until I get caught up on what I'm doing ~ and I need to start working on some tree skirts I promised!
